Under the direction of the Village of Gates Mills, the Recreation Board sponsors the following activities for Gates Mills residents of all ages. Information: Town Hall (440) 423-4405.
EASTER EGG HUNT
The Saturday before Easter at 11:30 a.m. rain or shine there is an Easter egg hunt for Village residents. Hunt times are staggered by age group. After the hunt coffee and donuts are served while the children visit with the Easter Bunny. The hunt takes place either on the Town Hall lawn or the lawn of the Community House.
ART SHOW
The annual April Art Show, which is held in the Gates Mills Community House, opens in April and runs two weeks. This popular art show is one of Northeast Ohio's premier exhibits of painting, drawings, graphic prints and sculpture. The show features the creative expressions of talented artists residing in the following communities: Gates Mills, Bainbridge, Chagrin Falls, Chardon, Chesterland, Hunting Valley, Kirtland, Kirtland Hills, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Newbury, Novelty, Orange Village, Pepper Pike, Russell, Waite Hill, and Willoughby Hills, as well as former Gates Mills residents. A distinguished panel of professionals from the Cleveland Institute of Art selects the Works to be displayed.
TENNIS
Several tennis exhibitions and tournaments are organized for the Gates Mills residents. They take place on the courts behind the Town Hall. The tennis courts are available for the residents' use. Using the sign up sheet is recommended to ensure availability.
JR. STRAWHAT THEATRE
Gates Mills residents and non-residents entering grade four through nine are taught basic theatrical skills including singing and dancing that culminates in a two night public performance. Auditions are held in the middle of June. Rehearsals are Monday through Friday 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. at the Gates Mills Community House for five weeks beginning the middle of June. Family and Community involvement is stressed.
SENIORS ACTIVITIES
Most months there is an activity organized for the resident Seniors. They are usually field trips to interesting places.
HALLOWEEN PARTY
Saturday night before Halloween all village children, Gates Mills Elementary School children and their families are invited to a free Halloween Party at the Community House between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. There is something for everyone including games, prizes, food, haunted hayride, and entertainment.
BAND CONCERT
In July a summer band concert is provided free for the residents. A live orchestra performs between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. on the Town Hall lawn. Tables and chairs are available and picnic suppers are encouraged.

MAYFIELD CITY SCHOOLS
The Mayfield City School offers approximately 250 classes/activities to the Community, which includes the residents of Gates Mills. The offerings are varied and extensive with something for all ages. Included are programs in Arts & Crafts, Business & Finance, Computer Training, Culinary Delights, Home & Garden, Dance/Exercise/Fitness, Health, Language (French, Hungarian, Italian, Spanish, Russian), Mind & Body, Recreation (golf, swimming, volleyball, soccer, basketball, badminton), Self-Protection, Parenting, Photography, and Writing. MAYFIELD POOL
The Mayfield Pool is located at Mayfield High School, 6116 Wilson Mills Road, in Mayfield Village. Mayfield High School pool is a 6 lane, 25-yard pool with a shallow area for learn-to-swim swimmers. The pool area is also handicapped accessible, including a pool lift. It has a diving well with two 1-meter diving boards. The pool is used by the High School for gym classes and for the High School and Middle School Swim Team. The pool was built with the support of the four communities. It has been Mayfield's goal to have the communities continue to use the pool. A learn-to-swim program is open only to residents of Mayfield City School District - Gates Mills, Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights and Mayfield Village.

Passes are made during evening hours only. Please bring photo ID and proof of residency. Students under the age of 16 will need their most recent report card.

Recreation Complex:
Is available to all residents in the four communities. The complex has 3 basketball courts, a four-lane indoor track and weight room with nautilus equipment and free weights.
