The Village’s Halloween Party was held on October 20th and was filled with lots of children in wonderful costumes, treats for all, hayrides, and Outback Ray with his exotic animals! Special thanks to Joycelyn Brogley and Doug Webb for organizing the party and to all of the volunteers who helped. A big thank you is given to our Service Department, Community Building staff and Town Hall Coordinators for all of the work preparing and setting up the party.
On Friday, October 20th I attended, with Chief Minichello, an awards dinner given by the FBI. Earl Owens, our Rumpke driver, won the Citizen Hero Award. You can read Earl’s speech and see his photo within the Pink Sheet.
The Positively Gates Mills Committee is hosting a real estate Open House on Sunday, November 5th. There are 34 open houses scheduled for homes on the market within the Village from 1:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. At Burton Court, there will be refreshments and information about the Village and its organizations. Gates Mills Elementary School will also be open. We have worked very hard to promote our community and keep home values up.
Please remember that Tuesday, November 7th is Election Day. The Village has four councilmembers on the ballot and all are uncontested races. If you have not voted early, please vote on Election Day. There will also be a charity bake sale in the upper level of the Community House for you to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Please add the “Your 911” app on your smart phones! If you need any assistance, we are available to help. All you need to do is call Town Hall at (440) 423-4405. Also, you can sign up for Gates Mills Connect on our website, www.gatesmillsvillage.com. This is a way for the Village to communicate events, information and news items to our residents.
Finally, I would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for all of the community support in the Village and for the beautiful community that we call home.
