For many years now, the Village of Gates Mills has partnered with the Heritage Home Program. It is part of the well regarded Cleveland Restoration Society, a regional historic preservation organization. The Heritage Home Program offers no-cost, expert technical assistance for older homes built before 1974, and appraised at less than $750,000. They also offer financing for renovations as low as 2%. In partnership with the Gilmour Academy, Gates Mills Police and Fire Departments, Safety Town is an early childhood program designed to prepare your child to evaluate “safe” from “unsafe” and to learn overall safety at home and away. Children must be safety minded. Throughout the 4 hour course, your child will learn safety behavior through visual aids, fun activities, actual demonstrations, and their own participation. Please be sure to ask your child about each day’s safety lesson.
