Happy, Healthy 2017! I hope everyone is enjoying our winter. Our Service Department has done a great job clearing our roads for the few storms that hit us hard.
Our Police Department has done a great job handling the home invasion case on Gates Mills Boulevard.  Our police, with the assistance of other departments and alert citizens, were able to restore our safe Village. I want to thank all those involved who helped in any way.

We all believe this was an isolated incident and that our community is safe. However, we do need to be  aware and lock our doors, cars and know who is at our door, before we open it to anyone. Our police  department is always available to respond to your calls if you see any suspicious activity.

A public safety awareness program is scheduled for the end of March. The program will be held on March 28th from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Community House. Also, Coffee with the Safety Forces will take place on March 8th from 10-11 a.m. at Burton Court, if you’d like the opportunity to meet with your safety personnel.

The Village has many upcoming activities. The Pink Sheet provides lots of event information from our various community groups. Family movie nights, theater, yoga, summer camps and more are all exciting and fun ways to be involved and meet others from your community. The Village website(www.gatesmillsvillage.com) and Gates Mills Connect, our email system for event reminders and information, are other ways to find out what is happening in our Village. Note that Gates Mills Connect differs from the Code Red system that we have for emergency information. Please take a moment to check out the website and register for Gates Mills Connect!

As a final note, you should be receiving my State of the Village report very soon. Happy new year, and I look forward to serving you during 2017.
