News Article - Coming Soon - Clothing Recycling Bin

Do you have usable clothing that you no longer wear but don't want to just throw away? Coming soon to the Village's Service Department Parking lot is a "Simple recycling" clothing bin.  

What happens to the collected clothing?

A: All of the materials are graded and sorted locally and/or regionally based on quality and condition. The top quality materials will be resold to local thrift outlets, mid grade is exported to international markets and “unusable” items are processed for raw materials.

News Article - NOPEC Finalizes $5,000 Grant Award To the Village of Gates Mills

(Solon, Ohio) – The Village of Gates Mills received a symbolic $5,000 oversized check recognizing the completion of the NOPEC Powering our Community Grant on July 11th. The NOPEC grant money was used to reimburse the expenses to replace an aged commercial dishwasher with a new energy-efficient model in the Village Community Building.

Mayor Karen Schneider, Members of Council, and NOPEC’s Relationship Manager, Nicole Sweet celebrated the completion of the project that has helped to reduce energy costs.
