April 2019
From the Mayor:

I’m hopeful spring is starting to arrive. Daffodils are peeking through as April brings our clean-up days.
The Garden Club organizes our clean-up by streets, so please volunteer to help us maintain the beauty of our Village.

Many of you will be planning your own spring cleanings. Please make sure to check our Ordinances online to comply with painting, fence and sign regulations, especially if you live in our Historic District.
Maintenance regulations for these items are now in our Village code. We do allow tree cutting; however, you will need a permit issued by our Building Department. If you have maintenance or permit questions, please call Town Hall, (440) 423-4405.

Hillcrest Meals on Wheels is able to deliver to Gates Mills’ residents who need this service. This service is designed to meet nutritional needs of homebound, disabled and elderly residents, who are unable to shop or prepare meals. The cost is $5.00 for a hot meal and $6.50 for a hot meal with a sandwich and side dish. Please contact Dorothy or Jean at Town Hall, 440-423-4405, if this is a service you would like to utilize.

The Village’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 20 at 11:30 a.m. rain or shine. A
big thank you goes out to Jocelyn Brogley, Dr. Doug Webb, and our Service and Administration
Departments who help the Easter Bunny prepare for the big day!

Our Forty-eighth Annual Art Show begins on Sunday, April 14, and goes through Sunday, April 28. It is a great show! The show has afternoon and evening hours to make it easy for everyone to attend. Many
Villagers are involved in the organization and running of the show, and their efforts are appreciated.

Work is starting back up in our new Marston Park. It is not open yet, but it is coming along nicely. You will see it come together with each visit to our Post Office. We are planning for a “Party in the New Park” on June 23. Please mark your calendars as there will be fun for all ages! More information will be distributed about this special event. Thank you to everyone who is helping this project stay community-oriented.
