Gates Mills

From the Mayor - April 2021
Monday, Apr. 5th

Dear Villagers,

Spring is finally here! Good weather and a degree of normalcy seems to be right around the
corner. I hope everyone is looking forward to our beautiful green and flower filled Village.

Spring means clean-up time is upon us. After the devastating November and December
damaging snow storms, there is a lot to do with tree branches down throughout the Village.
Please remember to apply for permits for fences and tree cutting.

The Village will again be holding our Easter Egg Hunt as a drive through event. Preregistration
is required through our website, www.gatesmillsvillage.com, or you may call Town Hall. It was
very successful last year and I’m confident we will have a bigger turnout this year.

Our Community Club is offering specially designed safety vests for sale to all of our dog
walkers, bike riders and walkers as a part of their “Light Up for Safety” program. Please visit
their page in this Pink Sheet for details.

Mark your calendar for Monday, April 12th at 6:00 p.m. to participate in a Zoom Community
Safety Meeting. Officer Jessica Newsome is in charge of this important event. Anyone
interested, please contact her by leaving a message at the Town Hall with Jean or Dorothy, and
Jessica will get back to you. Please see details in the Pink Sheet.

A group out of St. Christopher’s is trying to gauge the level of interest in providing a nursery
school program. There was a very successful program at St. Christopher’s many years ago. If
you have any interest, please complete the survey they have in this Pink Sheet. Let’s try to help.

I encourage everyone to continue to follow the State’s health guidelines, get your COVID
Vaccines, and support our local businesses. Let’s continue to keep our community as safe as
possible. Hope to see many of you face to face in the not too distant future.
