December 2018

Dear Villagers,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.  We have so many things in our Village to be thankful for each and every day.

Our Service Department does a beautiful job all year in keeping us looking good with roads open and maintained through our nice weather, rain and snow.  They put up holiday displays and participate in many of the holiday and community events, maintain our cemeteries and parks, and assist residents whenever possible throughout the year.

Our Police Department keeps us safe and informed.  They are always looking for new ways to help us stay safe.  We had some crime in the Village and our officers apprehended the suspect very quickly.  They work for us 24/7, a very big job.

Our Fire Department is always there when we really need them.  Again, they are prepared 24/7 to save us and our homes.  Our Chief is happy to check your house and install smoke detectors as needed.

Our Financial and Town Hall staff members are always ready to help you.  All of our Gates Mills employees are there to help, just ask us.

I thank everyone who voted for our renewal levy, which was not a tax increase.  All of the money from the levy stays in the Village. Gates Mills levies are a major source of revenue in covering the operation of our Village.

Our Hanukkah Celebration and Menorah Lighting ceremony will take place on Monday, December 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the park across the street from Town Hall and next to the library.  Potato pancakes and refreshments will be offered at Burton Court immediately following the lighting.

Christmas Eve with Santa is provided by the Gates Mills Improvement Society at the Polo Field.  The event begins at 4:30 p.m.

Our Village is a treasure and I thank all of our residents and volunteers who make it such a jewel.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year 2019 to everyone!
