Hello Villagers,

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving, celebrating our many blessings with family and friends.

The holiday season is quickly approaching, and soon our Village will sparkle like the North Pole. The bonfire wood is stacked and dried, ready for Christmas Eve. Bridge boxes have been replanted, menorah candles will be glowing, and traditions from many cultures will be honored throughout our community. In our own home, the cookie baking is complete—over thirty varieties this year—and we look forward to sharing them over the next four weeks.

On December 19, the Community House will host a festive gathering for Village employees. We’ll enjoy light refreshments, I’ll share a few words, and the Improvement Society will distribute checks from The Holiday Employee Fund made possible by contributions from residents. This tradition, which spans decades, allows us to show our gratitude for the dedication and hard work of our employees. I encourage you to participate in continuing this meaningful custom.

In the November elections, Charles (Chuck) Spear was elected Treasurer, and Karen Greco, Meghan Perez, Craig Steinbrink, and David Young were elected to Village Council. Each will serve a four-year term beginning January 1, 2026, with the official swearing-in at the January 20 Council meeting. Due to the resignations of Councilmen Michael Press and David Atton, Meghan and Karen were sworn in early at the November meeting to complete the remainder of those terms. I extend heartfelt thanks to all past and present officials for their commitment and service to our Village.

As I close this final letter of the year, I offer my personal gratitude for the privilege of helping lead our historic and unique community. With the support of Council, department heads, employees, committee members, and hundreds of volunteers, we are truly fortunate—for this place, and for one another.
