Dear Villagers,

Happy, Healthy 2020! We ended 2019 not having too much snow. January has also been low on snow with a 70° Saturday! I’m sure we will make up for all the mild weather, and our Service Department stands ready!

I hope our annual State of the Village will be mailed in early February. Please watch your mail for it.
We are going to be busy in 2020. Our Long Range Planning Committee will be reorganizing and working on Village funding. This Committee completed this process four years ago and found it profitable. Re-visiting old ideas and hopefully coming up with new ones to maintain Village services is challenging and rewarding. We are going to start our Master Plan process as well. We had a unanimous decision from our selection committee to work with CT Consultants. They will be working with us for good results. We are going to need all Villagers’ input in the process. Once we begin meeting with CT, more information on how to become involved will be shared.

I am doing fundraising this year for our Community House. The “Refresh” was kicked off by the fundraiser dinner the Community Club held in October. The Community House Refresh will be a complement to our new Marston Park; all of which falls under recreation for our Village. The flyer will be on our website and in the State of the Village.

The Pink Sheet provides lots of event information from our various community groups. Family movie nights, theater, yoga, summer camps and more are all exciting and fun ways to be involved
and meet others from your community. The Village website (www.gatesmillsvillage.com) and Gates Mills Connect, our email system for event reminders and information, are other ways to find out what is happening in our Village. Note that Gates Mills Connect differs from the emergency
alert system (Your 911). Please take a moment to check out the website and register for Gates Mills Connect!
