Our Village summer activities are off to a good start.  We have lots of action in the Village downtown area.  The summer nature camp is going strong, full of happy, busy campers!  Our tennis and pickleball courts are in good use and the annual parade and summer band concert are coming soon.

In the month of June, the Garden Club Walk was a phenomenal event.  Gates Mills is proud to be the home of so many residents with incredible gardening talents and visions of beauty.  We give a big thank you to everyone involved.  We also had our 2^nd Annual Leadership Luncheon with all Village Community Leaders.  A common thread of conversation was the need to inspire our residents to get involved and keep the Gates Mills community spirit alive.

Village Council also passed an Ordinance regarding property maintenance.  This Ordinance can be found on our website under the Building Department information.  As a reminder, permits must be issued for fences, tree cutting and exterior home alterations.  The permit process is important to insure compliance to ordinances and protection to homeowners.  Please contact Dave Biggert with any questions prior to starting your project.

Our annual July 4^th parade is always the highlight of summer.  The parade schedule is detailed in the July/August issue of the Pink Sheet. I hope to see you there!  The Community Club will have hot dogs available for purchase while you enjoy meeting some of your neighbors!

The Summer Band Concert will be held on Sunday, July 23 at 5:30 p.m. This is always a great family event.  The Dan Zola Orchestra will be performing while children can be entertained by a “Fun With Bubbles” program.  Bring your picnic or purchase a meal from Sara’s and enjoy the evening at Village Hall.  East Coast Custard will also have ice cream treats available for purchase.

With August right around the corner, we must remember schools will be starting.  Please use caution when driving through town.
