Gates Mills

From the Mayor - March 2020
Tuesday, Apr. 14th

Dear Villagers,

Happy March! Happy Spring! Warmer weather and daylight savings time will be here soon. March 8 is when we will “spring forward” and move our clocks ahead an hour.

BIG RECYCLING NEWS: Effective April 1st, the recycling boxes in the Service Area at Town Hall will be removed. These paper and cardboard recycling bins have been a revenue source for the Gates Mills Land Conservancy for many years. However, it has become cost prohibitive for the service to continue. Rumpke will take your flattened boxes and papers, magazines, etcetera with your regular trash and recycling pick-up. Again, this is effective April 1.

As we move into the next season, spring clean-ups will begin. Thank you to everyone who has been fixing fences and trimming trees. Remember to call Town Hall for permits prior to tree cutting, erecting new fences or new auxiliary buildings.

The Gates Mills Players will be performing Agatha Christie’s The Hollow on March 13, 14, 15, 20 and 21 at the Community House. Please refer to their page within The Pink Sheet for more information.

The Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 11, and the 49th Annual Gates Mills Art Show will be open April 19 through May 3. If you would like to volunteer for either event, please call Jean or Dorothy at Town Hall with your contact information.

If you did not receive the State of the Village mailing, please feel free to call Town Hall or you can view it online at www.gatesmillsvillage.com. As mentioned in the State of the Village letter, if you are interested in volunteering for the Long Range Planning initiative or the Master Plan process, please let us know. You can email me at mayor@gatesmillsvillage.com or call Town Hall with your information. We need your participation for these efforts to be successful.
