Dear Villagers,

After a very mild winter, hopefully March brings us more good weather so we can all experience more of the outdoors with daylight savings time. These are exciting times for Gates Mills.

I am happy to announce that WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A COFFEE SHOP IN OUR VILLAGE! The owners of Sara’s restaurant (Dave and Mary Gromelski) are going to open a coffee shop in the space next door to the restaurant. The shop will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They will offer coffee and pastries in the morning, and for lunch there will be a variety of soups, prepared sandwiches, and salads. The targeted grand opening will be late May. Stay tuned for more details.

Our Comprehensive Plan’s Advisory Committee is proceeding well and on schedule for a late spring finish. Their next meeting is scheduled for March 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Gates Mills Elementary School. Please watch for details for a Town Hall meeting to be held in the months to come.

The Gates Mills Players will be performing “Girl’s Weekend” at The Community House on March 3, 4, 5, 10 and 11th. Please look for additional details in The Pink Sheet.

We are planning to have our Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 8th. Children will be able to enjoy our traditional hunt and scramble to collect eggs at the Village complex.

The State of the Village mailing will be sent to everyone and will be posted online at www.gatesmillsvillage.com. If you are interested in volunteering for any committees, please let us know. Some committees meet only as needed. You can email me at mayor@gatesmillsvillage.com or call Town Hall with your information if you wish to
volunteer. We encourage your active participation to help maintain our great Gates Mills programs and events.

As we move through March into April, it’s fix-up time in our Village. Please think about repairing your broken fences and cleaning up dead trees and debris. New fences and tree removal require a permit, so please call Town Hall if you are engaging in one of these projects.

As you prepare for spring cleaning, following are a few dates and events to mark on your calendar:

*We have a drop box at the back entrance to Town Hall available 24/7.
