Dear Villagers,
The Village’s Halloween Party was held on October 26th and was filled with lots of children in wonderful costumes, treats for all, and Outback Ray with his exotic animals! The rain did not dampen anyone’s spirits! Special thanks to Joycelyn Brogley and Doug Webb for organizing the party and to all of the volunteers who helped. A big thank you is given to our Service Department, Community Building staff and Town Hall Coordinators for all of the work preparing and setting up the party.
Our Drug Take Back Day and the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off have really been well-received by residents. Both programs are very good and go a long way in keeping our Village safe and well-kept.
Our new playground and recreation center is really taking shape. We got a slow start due to the bidding process for cement. Our project turned out to be too big for smaller contractors and too small for bigger ones. With some adjustments, we are working on everything now. We will keep you posted! If you are going to the Post Office, you can see that things have started to be constructed and placed!
Please remember that Tuesday, November 6th is Election Day. The Village has one issue (Issue #38) for an Operating Levy Renewal on the ballot. This is a 3 mill levy renewal first approved by voters in 1993 and 100% of the levy proceeds are used for Village services. If you have not voted early, please vote on Election Day. There will also be a charity bake sale in the upper level of the Community House for you to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Please check to see if your house numbers are visible in both directions. Make sure you have “Your 911” on all cell phones living in your home. Please continue to be our eyes and ears.
Finally, I would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for all of the community support in the Village and for the beautiful community that we call home.
