Gates Mills

From the Mayor - Oct 2020
Thursday, Oct. 1st

Dear Villagers,

Welcome to our beautiful fall! October’s cool air, crisp leaves and colorful tree displays mean it’s time for fall planting, clean-up and holiday prepping.

Our Service Department has had more storm damage to contend with as many culverts have had major cleaning done again and again! The Department puts forth much effort and does a great job for us.

Please let our Police know if you are going away. The information stays in Gates Mills with our Police Department. Officers are out driving our area 24 hours, 7 days a week. They look for cars in driveways of people who are away and for anything that appears to be out of place. Please help them keep you safe.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we want you to remain healthy! Please continue to wear masks and keep social distancing as you make your way through the upcoming holiday months.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd. The Village has Issue #8on the ballot. This is a renewal of a 3.5 mill levy for operating expenses that was first approved in 1996 and is not a tax increase. The money generated from this levy is only for Village expenses. The funds provide police, fire, and service activities that are vital to the Village. Please remember to vote either in person or via absentee ballot.

Lastly, Halloween needs to be different this year. There is no door-to-door trick or treating and there will be no party at the Community House. Instead, we will have a Halloween Drive Through at our Village Complex. You can drive through and receive treats without leaving your vehicle. The event will be held on Friday, October 30th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.Further details can be found in this issue of The Pink Sheet.

Looking forward to a beautiful fall in our Village!
