Gates Mills

From the Mayor - October 2018
Thursday, Oct. 18th

Dear Villagers,

Our beautiful fall has arrived!  Turning leaves with beautiful fall colors and crisp mornings leave us wanting hot chocolate, apple cider, and pumpkin pie by a nice fire!

I know we have been jarred and violated by our two robberies.  Our Gates Mills Police have done an amazing job finding and arresting the suspect.  We were assisted by the FBI and neighboring Police and SWAT teams.  We thank all who helped bring the situation to a quick end.

We are a safe community! It was an isolated event that reminds us to keep doors and cars locked.  Use your security systems and be alert.  Help us by reporting anything that looks out of the ordinary.

The “Your 911” app should be on all cell phones residing in Gates Mills.  If you need help with downloading the app, please call us.  Important notifications are delivered to you regarding emergencies and safety situations in the Village.

Thank you to everyone for fixing their fences.  We have made great progress and improved the look of our Village.  Please look at your house numbers as you come and go from your home.  The numbers should be on both sides of a mailbox on a through street.  If you use a Post Office Box, please post a yard sign with your house number.  EMS, safety forces and trash service providers do not know our residences by name; they need to be able to see our house numbers.

Happy Halloween to everyone!  Our Annual Halloween Party will be held on Friday, October 26 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Village’s Community House.  We look forward to seeing you there!
