Gates Mills’ beautiful fall is coming with all its lovely colors and crisp, refreshing mornings.

The storm on Friday, September 13 caught everyone by surprise.  We lost a lot of trees, lights and traffic lights due to the storm.  Thank you to our Fire, Service and Police Department members for their efforts in restoring the Village.  Please remember during these situations that your safety forces are looking out for your safety and that road closures or re-routing of traffic is vital and important in keeping our residents safe.

Our Cedar Road project will hopefully be finished by November 1^st.  We just got word that our funding request for the median and traffic light reconfiguration project at Mayfield Road and Chagrin River Road intersection was approved by the Ohio Department of Transportation!  This is great news for us as the funding will cover 90% of the right of way and construction costs.  The project will entail the reconstruction and upgrade of the traffic signal, widening of the median opening, reconstruction and offset of the left-turn lanes on both approaches of Mayfield Road and the installation of the advance warning detection system on Mayfield Road.

Many of you have received a “Hi Neighbors!” letter that really looks like it came from someone in Gates Mills.  It did not!  We traced it to Nextdoor, a company out of California that sends these all over.  If you sign up, you will start receiving sponsored ad emails.

Our Community Club is sponsoring a wonderful event, “An Evening In the Village” on October 19^th at 6:00 p.m.  They are raising money to start the Refresh Our Community House Project.  Our house is looking tired and needs refreshing.  New flooring upstairs along with paint and drapes will bring it back to life.  I hope everyone will participate somehow. 

Happy Halloween to everyone!  Our Annual Halloween Party will be held on Friday, October 25 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Village’s Community House.  We look forward to seeing you there!
