Dear Villagers,

Fall has arrived! October’s cool air, crisp leaves and colorful tree displays mean it’s time for fall planting, clean-up and holiday prepping.

Our Service Department has had more storm and flood damage to contend with as many culverts have had major cleaning done again and again! The Department puts forth much effort and does a great job for us.

On September 22nd, the Gates Mills Improvement Society sponsored and organized a successful Candidates’ Night. Thank you to everyone for helping make it a worthwhile evening.

We also had another well-received Shredding Day on September 25th. This is a nice service provided to our residents.


There will be a Crime Prevention Program on October 11th in partnership with the Hunting Valley Police Department. Please see additional information in The Pink Sheet or in an upcoming Gates Mills Connect notice!


Please let our Police know if you are going away. The information stays in Gates Mills with our Police Department. During weekday hours, you can call Dorothy or Jean at Town Hall with your information. Officers are out driving our area 24 hours, 7 days a week. They look for cars in driveways of people who are away and for packages that have been delivered. Please help them keep you safe.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we want you to remain healthy! Please continue to wear masks and keep social distancing as you make your way through the upcoming holiday months.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 2nd. The Village has Issue #38 on the ballot. This is a renewal of a 1-mill levy for conservation purposes and is not a tax increase. There are also four council positions on the ballot. Please remember to vote either in person or via absentee ballot.

Lastly, Halloween will be a Drive Through event again this year. There is no door-to-door trick or treating and there will be no party at the Community House You can drive through the Village Hall Complex and receive treats without leaving your vehicle. The event will be held on Friday, October 29nd from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. This worked out great last year!
