For many years now, the Village of Gates Mills has partnered with the Heritage Home Program. It is part of the well regarded Cleveland Restoration Society, a regional historic preservation organization. The Heritage Home Program offers no-cost, expert technical assistance for older homes built before 1974, and appraised at less than $750,000. They also offer financing for renovations as low as 2%. This financing is not dependent on income. The owner of any home meeting the criteria of: 1) built
before 1974, and 2) appraised at less than $750,000 can apply. It is a non-governmental program. The mission of this program is historic preservation throughout Cuyahoga County.
