Event Listing - Gates Mills Art Reception - Barbara Benedict: Plein Art
The Friends of the Gates Mills Branch Library features an artist in the branch every two months. Barbara Benedict will be featured starting April 27th and the show will run for approximately six weeks during library hours. Barbara specializes in Plein Art studies. A free artist reception with light refreshments will be held on Sunday April 27th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Come meet the artist and discuss her work.

Join us at the Gates Mills Branch Library for a discussion of Don't Sleep There Are Snakes: Life and Language in teh Amazonian Jungle by Daniel L. Everett. A linguist recounts his experiences with the Pirahaa, a small tribe of Amazonian Indians living in central Brazil whose language defies accepted linguistic theories and reflects a culture that has no counting system and lives entirely in the present. Everyone is welcomed to attend the discussion.
