The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to fight the ongoing battle against the heroin and opiate epidemic. As part of its prevention effort, the CCSD has provided over 42 municipalities across Cuyahoga County with Rx Drug Drop Boxes.

Rx Drug Drop Boxes provide a safe, environmentally friendly way for citizens to dispose of their unwanted or unused prescription drugs. Unused prescription drugs are typically the gateway to heroin abuse, as over 70% of Americans misusing painkillers obtain them from friends or relatives.

Gates Mills has placed an internet MEETUP SPOT sign on Village Property located in the Vestibule of Town Hall.  This location is designated as a safe sales transaction location for all legal online sales.  This location is observed by cameras that are recorded digitally.  Residents are welcome to use this location to make the transfer of items sold online.

It’s time for our summer wrap-up. The Nature Camp had a great 8 weeks of fun for campers. The weather was very cooperative for all activities they had planned.

July brought us our wonderful July 4th Parade. The Gates Mills Improvement Society does a fantastic job putting together and funding our special traditions. Your membership is vital in order to keep the Parade, Christmas Eve, and other supported events alive.

Our Village summer activities are off to a good start.  We have lots of action in the Village downtown area.  The summer nature camp is going strong, full of happy, busy campers!  Our tennis and pickleball courts are in good use and the annual parade and summer band concert are coming soon.
